You can already talk to your instant messenger contacts without leaving Firefox, Thunderbird or Flock thanks to Same Place, an extension that integrates a simple chat client in these applications.

For now, the networks compatible with Same Place are the following: MSN Messenger, AIM, Yahoo, ICQ and Jabber/Gmail. You can also use Same Place to change your Twitter status message.

Same Place groups the conversations by tabs, supports the use of emoticons and the sending of images that are stored on a webpage during the conversation.
